What is stored in your browser, what Stripe uses, and what happens if advertising arrives.

A cookie is a small file a site can store in your browser and read back later. Related technologies, such as local storage, also store information in your browser but work slightly differently: the app reads them directly rather than sending them with every request.
This policy covers both, because the rules on storing or accessing information on your device apply to each of them.
Pretty Little Wiccan is operated by Claire Collins trading as Pretty Little Wiccan.

Local storage, used for essential app function. Your Book of Shadows entries, learning progress, favourites, cupboard selections, onboarding answers, app preferences and whether you are in Free or Plus mode are kept in your browser's local storage under a single app key.
This is not a cookie. It is not sent to us, it is not used to track you across other websites, and it exists so the app can remember your own content and settings between visits.
A small number of interface components may also store a display preference locally in the same way.
There is currently no analytics cookie, no advertising cookie and no tracking pixel in the app.
If you open checkout, Stripe loads its own secure payment components. Stripe may set cookies or use similar technologies for the checkout session, fraud prevention and security.
These are used to take payment safely rather than to advertise to you, and Stripe governs them under its own privacy and cookie practices, published at stripe.com/privacy.
Advertising is planned for the free tier but is not currently switched on. The ad spaces in the app are placeholders drawn by the app itself and load no third-party code, no advertising cookies and no tracking identifiers.
If Google AdSense or another advertising provider is introduced later, non-essential advertising and tracking technologies will not be activated for users who require consent until the required consent mechanism is in place, and this policy will be updated first.
You can clear or block cookies and local storage for this site in your browser settings. Clearing local storage for Pretty Little Wiccan permanently deletes your Book of Shadows entries, progress and preferences, so save anything you want to keep first.
Once advertising consent is active, you will be able to revisit and change your privacy and ad choices from Settings at any time.
