Basic
We distinguish between what is historically evidenced, what is modern Wiccan tradition, what belongs to particular traditions, and what is folklore or personal practice.
Wicca and witchcraft are not treated as synonyms. Wicca is a modern religion that took shape in the twentieth century while drawing on older religious, magical, folkloric and seasonal material.
Where historians disagree, we say so. Where evidence is limited, we say that too rather than inventing a tidy story.
There are many good ways to practise. Traditions differ, solitary practice is legitimate, and no lineage is presented here as the real one.
